13th Floor Elevators, The - Live Houston Music Theatre '67 (RSD 2025)
Regular price
£28.00
The 13th Floor Elevators’ “Lost” Live Album From 1967 - First-Ever Mono Mix - Available in Full . This historic live recording captures the pioneering Texas band at the height of their powers during a triumphant performance on February 18, 1967. This album, originally intended to be the band’s second LP, now finally receives its long-awaited debut in its first-ever mono mix, meticulously restored to its intended form. Recorded in the ultra-modern Houston Music Theatre—complete with a revolving stage—this show was captured just after the band’s return from a groundbreaking California tour. The 13th Floor Elevators, led by Roky Erickson’s blistering vocals and Tommy Hall’s otherworldly electric jug, were in their prime, and this performance solidified their place as pioneers of the psychedelic sound. The album has been mixed, edited, and mastered to authentically recreate the mono live experience as it would have been released in the spring of 1967. Highlights of Live Houston Music Theatre 1967 include fiery renditions of the band’s signature tracks like ‘You're Gonna Miss Me’ and ‘Reverberation’, showcasing the wild intensity of their sound.
